A crime and police drama a la Dragnet and Calling all Cars, A Salute to Law features Nick Harris catching those who are guilty of "the folly of committing crime.Slightly different in tone to the aforementioned series, A Salute to Law stressed an overarching moralistic theme in regards to crime and punishment.

This story centred around the private investigations company of “Assignments Unlimited”, an organization that investigated uncommon cases and who guaranteed successes at all time. The main character was Aubrey Mason, chief investigator played by Michael Todd. In essence, this story reminds a lot of “Address Unknown”, with Henry Simon being replaced by Aubrey Mason. Instead of missing persons being sought, this time around its uncommon cases being investigated and solved. The first 17 episodes were written by Adrian Steed, who later became a well-known face on South African Television as presenter and newsreader. The remaining episodes were written by another very famous Springbok Radio personality, Douglas Laws.
